Vegan Primary Care is Closing 22 SEP 2026

Dear Vegan Primary Care Community,

After a great deal of consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close Vegan Primary Care. My final day seeing patients will be September 22, 2026.

It has been an incredible privilege to serve as your physician, and I am extremely grateful for the trust you have placed in me over the years.

Why I Am Closing My Practice

I have accepted a full-time physician position with CareATC that will provide greater long-term stability and health insurance for my family. This transition will also allow me to retire from the U.S. Army Reserve after many years of service and enter the next chapter of my life with more time for my family.

Appointments

I will continue seeing patients through September 22, 2026, although appointment availability will become increasingly limited as we approach the closure date.

Schedule an appointment

Prescription Refills

Please review your medications and schedule an appointment if needed. I want to make this transition as smooth as possible for you. After the practice closes, I will no longer be able to provide routine prescriptions through Vegan Primary Care.

Ongoing Medical Care

If you have ongoing medical conditions, medications that require monitoring, or other active medical needs, I encourage you to begin establishing care with another primary care clinician as soon as possible.

Medical Records

Your medical records will remain available after the practice closes. I will send more information before closure explaining how to obtain your records or have them transferred to your new healthcare provider.

If you already know where you will be receiving care, please send us the name of the new practice (through email or text) including the fax number so we can assist with transferring your records.

Finding a New Physician

Here are two local primary care practices accepting new patients that you may wish to consider:

Upwell Medical Clinic — Lutz Visit Upwell Medical Clinic
Sirisha Tirthala, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine (Adult Primary Care), Lifestyle Medicine, and Obesity Medicine and incorporates plant-based nutrition into her practice.

Community Care Diagnostic Clinic — Largo Visit Community Care Diagnostic Clinic
Jacqueline Todd, DO is board certified in Family Medicine with a special interest in lifestyle medicine and plant-based nutrition. The practice accepts most insurance plans.

Additional Resources for Finding a Physician

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) Find a Doctor directory allows you to search for plant-based physicians and other healthcare professionals locally or by telehealth.

You can also search the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Certified Clinicians Directory, which allows you to search by location, specialty, and insurance plan.

Thank You

Vegan Primary Care has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. It has been a true joy and privilege to be your doctor—to hear your stories, celebrate your successes, help you through difficult times, and simply get to know you.

I am deeply grateful for the trust you placed in me and for the opportunity to be part of your lives. You have also been a meaningful part of mine, and these years have changed me for the better, both as a physician and as a person. I am very sad to close this chapter, and I will truly miss you.

I started Vegan Primary Care to create the kind of practice I wished existed: a place specifically for vegans, where patients could receive affordable, insurance-based care from a physician who understood their values. It has meant so much to see that idea become a real community.

Thank you for being part of it. I will always be grateful for the time we shared.

With gratitude,
